Darjeeling - Sikkim - Gantok – Kalimpong

Route: Darjeeling - Yuksum - Pemyangtse - Gangtok - Kalimpong - Bagdogra.

Highlights: Toy Train ride (subject to operation), statue of Maitry, Tibetan refugee Self Help Centre, Tea Garden in Darjeeling; Sangacholing Monastery in Pemyangtse, Cottage Industry, Tashiling in Gangtok Monastery in Kalimpong.

  • Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu transfer to Hotel
  • Day 2: Sightseing in Kathmandu
  • Day 3: Kathmandu to Badrapur flight and drive to Darjeeling
  • Day 4: Darjeeling - famous for its tea, highest peak (Kanchanjunga 8598 m) and The Toy Train: 88 km journey from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri to Darjeeling on the famous miniature railway not the quickest way but is an experience should not be missed.
  • Day 5: Yuksum - the first capital of Sikkim where the first Chogyal of Sikkim was crowned in 1641 by three learned lamas.
  • Day 6: Pemyangtse - the monastic complex of Pemyangtse is the main attraction built in 1705. It is famous for its spectacular masked dances and annual festival.
  • Day 7: Gangtok - means unclear, though it is generally held to mean "lofty hill". Gangtok is centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture and learning with numerous monasteries and religious educational institutions.
  • Day 8: Kalimpong - part of Sikkim and Bhutanese territory before 19th century British India. Kalimpong is famous for its indigenous handicraft. The artisans here produce Tibetan and Bhutanese handicraft and jewelry.
  • Day 9: Sightseeing & Excursion:
  • Day 10: Darjeeling: Tiger hill, Ghoom Monastery, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Market.
  • Day 11: Pemyangtse : Pemayangtse Monastery.
  • Day 12: Gangtok : Enchey Monastery, White Hall & Lall Market, Tashiview Point & Phudong Monastery. 13: Kalimpong : Durpin Dara, Tharpa Choling Monastery,
  • Day 13: Drive to Badrapur and flight to Kathmandu
  • Day 14: Kathmandu sightseeing and shopping
  • Day 15: Transfer to the airport for departure
